These are the rules we hold ourselves to when we publish an explanation of a Spanish word, phrase or piece of media.
Sources
Every article lists its sources at the foot of the page. Facts and figures in the text are checked against those listed sources before the article goes live, so a reader who doubts a claim can go and look at the same material we used.
AI assistance
Articles are written by the Spanish to English Editorial Team with AI assistance. Articles are published under the editorial team, not under a named individual author, because that is how they are produced.
Images
Pictures on this site fall into four kinds:
- Original graphics we make ourselves
- Creative Commons photographs, with credit shown
- Screenshots of publicly available pages
- AI-generated illustrations, labelled as AI-generated
